Becoming a Habitual Writer: My New Year’s Resolution

I am trying to make this my habit.  I don’t want to stop-and-go with my momentum.  I want to be serious about my writing.

I look back over my last year at my writing and can see where I have grown and where I have stunted myself over the past year.  My new year’s resolution is to set intentions for what I want for myself this year and be instrumental in manifesting that for myself.  I started my new year by writing myself a letter outlining my goals and intentions for this year.  I am going to read that letter in January of 2014 and take a good look at everything I intended for 2013 and see where I am at the end of this year.  I am not posting the letter now, but will at the end of the year.

As for writing – I am trying to write every day.  I want it to be a habit.  Whether it’s a letter, a blog post, a short story or work on my novel – I am going to start focusing on writing habitually.

Oh, and I am also going to workout more this year…just not in the gym.  I bought the book The Writers Workout.  So far, so good.  I spent the first week of January writing every single day and looking in this book every single day.  I’m looking forward to a year a learning, a year of great workshops, classes and exercises and a year of growth for me.
